My big Challenge - India
Story
Late last year I was feeling that I needed a challenge in my life. I needed a reason to get fit and healthy and lose some weight. I had no idea what I could do , though I had a few unrealistic dreams.
THEN I saw an advertisement in a Uniting Church email newsletter and knew that was the answer! 5 days trekking in North India and 3 days at the project, visiting the schools in the villages and exploring parts of India.
I'm participating in the challenge of a lifetime! I'm very excited and also a little scared. I have never done anything so daring before in my life.
There are currently over 400 children in 15 vilage schools who are receiving education and health services. 10 more villages would like to join. Their mothers are getting involved too and raising their confidence to tackle the problems they have.
In doing so, I'm going to be raising much needed funds for UnitingWorld. Please help me raise vital funds. Educating women and girls is, I believe, the way to change the world for the better.
